The EBRD, established in 1991, invests in countries as far apart as Morocco and Mongolia, to Estonia and Egypt, supporting the development of the private sector and market oriented economies. The EBRD combines investments with cooperation through technical support and dialogues on policy. The bank is the biggest institutional investor in many of its countries of operations and is at the forefront in combatting climate change through its funding.

The ICT sector is playing an increasingly important role in the economic growth of the EBRD’s countries of operations. Over the recent years, most EBRD countries have made progress in developing their infrastructure that supports information technology and developing relevant legislation. Further development of ICT is essential to support economic diversification, innovation and access to international markets. Through organizing the business-matching event that connects participants to Taiwan’s ICT solution providers, the bank is promoting the sustainable growth of small companies and new entrants to the market that are a source of innovation and competition.
